What Is GFCI | Ground-Fault Electrical Protection?
Ground-Fault Electrical Protection is designed with only you in mind. They are designed to protect you against any abnormal electrical spike that may be harmful. When that happens the GFCI trips the power to the off position until the electrical circuit returns to safe conditions.
Basically they act as "overprotective parents" making sure that you are safe whenever you are using electrical around water.
Where does GFCI Protection Get Installed?
GFCI electrical protection needs to be installed wherever water is present or on older homes that do not have a ground wire throughout their home.
